Meet Our Leadership

Kathy LacQuay

Executive Director

Kathy has 30+ years’ experience in early childhood education. She began her career in 1993 as a Special Education Paraprofessional working with children with autism in St. Cloud School District 742. In 2006 she left the school district to open and become the Director of Little Puzzlers Child Care Center, Inc. In 2016, Kathy took the role of Executive Director of Little Puzzlers Child Care Center, Inc., Sugar Plum North and South Childcare Centers, and in 2018 added Child’s Play of St Cloud MN, Inc. Kathy earned her Educational Assistant Certificate through Ridgewater College and obtained her Early Childhood Directors Credential in 2018.

Anita Rooney

Center Director

Anita Rooney is the Director of Child’s Play of St. Cloud, Minnesota. Anita joined Child's Play in 1997 and leads her team with years of experience in the early childhood education field. She earned her Child Care Specialist diploma from Rasmussen College and completed her Early Childhood Director’s Credentials through the Minnesota Association for the Education of Young Children (MNAEYC).

Anita’s passion lies in working collaboratively with young children, families, and staff to create a safe, high-quality learning environment where children can grow, learn, and thrive together. Her leadership is grounded in experience, dedication, and a deep commitment to best practices in early childhood education.
